2023 Bleasdale Vineyards Second Innings Malbec

If you haven't discovered just how good Australian Malbec can be, this is a cracking place to start. It's packed with juicy plum and dark berry fruit, with a peppery, savoury edge that keeps all that richness in check and a smooth, generous finish that makes you want another glass. It seriously punches above its weight, delivering loads of flavour without sacrificing balance, and that's exactly why it made the cut.

What to eat with it?

Flame-grilled chicken with a bit of char on the skin would be an absolute winner here. The smoky flavours work beautifully with the wine's juicy fruit and peppery spice. Steak, lamb chops or a good burger will also do the trick.

Drink now or later?

Both. It's rich, juicy and drinking beautifully right now, but there's enough structure to keep developing through to around 2033. No need to wait though, it's already seriously good drinking.
