2025 Rob Hall Cabernets

This is one of those bottles that seriously overdelivers on what you'd expect. There's loads of juicy dark fruit, but it's the smooth, medium-bodied feel and savoury edge that make it so easy to keep going back for another glass. It drinks like a much more serious bottle than you'd expect, without ever feeling too serious to drink, and that's exactly why it made the cut.

What to eat with it?

This is made for dinner. Steak, roast lamb, beef ragu, burgers or anything involving mushrooms will work a treat, but it's versatile enough that you don't need to plan the meal around the wine.

Drink now or later?

Both. It's beautifully approachable right now, but there's enough structure here to comfortably develop over the next 6–8 years. If you've got a couple, this is another drink-one-now-and-hide-one-away job.
